Among The Missing.

I first caught Among The Missing back in 2004 completely unaware that they would sound like the dangerously twisted children of Black Flag and Discharge if the Napalm Death gene was somehow included. The Track 'Catacombs' is a violent audio attack that opens the ITG comp 'Straight Outta The Ground Vol.1'.

Straight Outta Tha Ground Vol.1

This is In Tha Ground. This is what it's about. Eighteen tracks. Diverse. Varied. Always dark. Always dirty. This disc goes from rolling hardcore to balls out black metal. You get clean recordings, you get charasmatic filth. You get dirty south sounding vocals, you get feral screams. You get it all, ITG style.

This is a showcase of bands you've never heard for you to play, rate, rock out to. Gang vocals. Two steps. Beatdowns. Pig squeals. It's all here but don't think you know it yet. Listen and you'll hear originality. Listen and you'll bang your head. This is Straight Outta Tha Ground, Volume One, straight to your head.

Final Ruin's 'Dead Man Walking' is track 10 from this compilation...

...Ruislip's finest Metal act. Sadly these guys are a long time dead, but members have progressed and formed 'Here Lies Affliction'.

This compilation is available HERE

Kidkanevil - Mega Joy (TOKiMONSTA Unsound Bliss mix) by TOKiMONSTA

Not dark or dirty but you gotta love the 'Golden Axe' sample and the amazing production value. Both Kidkanevil and TOKiMONSTA are the future of electronic music. Dubstep is over boys!

Shaping the End - 'All Welcome the End'

One track is all it takes to sum up Shaping the End. Check it. The track's called Breaking Moulds. With the song, that's what they do. Crisp yet dirt, fast yet rhythmic, brutal yet controlled. Sparse on lyrics, heavy on atmosphere; no one element is overshadowed yet together they combine to cast a dark form over the airwaves. We like it dark. One track is all it takes... you get three. Death metal leanings, unique drum sound, head banging beat downs, tidy progressions and a measured intensity. Epic enough to earn your respect, dirty enough to feel right.
Think Black Dahlia Murder. Think From the Carnival of Horrors.

The Lost Boyz.

Photobucket

The Lost Boyz were a 90s Rap group hailing from Queens, New York. This rap quartet consists of Freaky Tah, Mr. Cheeks, Pretty Lou and Spigg Nice. Their debut album, 'Legal Drug Money' features '1,2,3 Thousand Problems', which is one of the most aggressive rap tracks i've ever heard but still manages to maintain a bitter-sweet melody..

The demise of the Lost Boyz was due to Freaky Tah being shot in the head at Mr. Cheeks' party. Tah was pronounced dead at 4:20 am. A loss blessed with irony...

The Effects of Filth... Apparently.

Sorry.

Rosewest - 'Work The Bellows'

To do this in few words; intense, gripping, scat head bang mathcore.
To do this right; Rosewest are a new sound. Despite the genre's sub-genres available, no label does the fret stretching, attention absorbing onslaught of this band's sound justice.
Rosewest refuse to fit. Refuse to sound the same. A frantic, technically brilliant beast, more than the sum of its parts.
Raw vocals, driving song structure and genuine diversity; once you've got it all worked out, Rosewest change the rules. An adrenaline inducing disc you'll play on repeat, each time unable to make it as intense as the reality with the sounds you conjure in your mind; just put it on again, shut the fuck up.
The groove is there, in each song, waiting to be found, hinted at, then realised in frenetic, satisfying, fat fucking break downs that don't hang around; Rosewest = all killer, no filler.
Think Red Chord. Think dark. Think Converge. Think dirt.

DEATH FEAST UK

"From the early days of Warhammer, the primitive and sinister sounds of the UK's first ever death metal band debuting material over twenty years old for the first time on CD, throught o forerunners Benediction and Extreme Noise Terror and now the current disciples of devastation, death and grind has relied upon the people who listened to it to distribute it. Even though tapetrading and fanzines have become review blogs and megauploads, control over this has never rested easily in the hands of major labels, marketing bods and industry circle-jerks. They're redundant, self interested middlemen standing between two groups of people who love brutal, neck-snapping death metal for what it is: the bands and yourselves."

Enjoy. ITG.

Southcoast Rising.

On the 8th April bands Heart in Hand, Tench, Kerouac, Crestfallen and South Coats Rising came to Hamptons Bar in Southampton. The turnout was more than reasonable with dedicated fans obviously making an appearance at the front of the stage. I entered the bar as Tench were performing which I can only describe as electric. From the lead singer, Ike Rideout’s voice to the soaring sea of fans it was obvious that they had done this before…plenty of times. It may not have been my cup of tea but I felt the intensity of the band and enjoyed how they delivered their songs to the crowd. At one point I even saw myself dipping my head to the beat which one could only describe as cringe worthy however I was having a good time so I did not care. Then next came Heart in Hand...a band that describes its music as ‘melodic hardcore from the south’; a quote that I find very inviting. The lead singer Charlie Holmes took to the stage like he owned it…which in fairness he pretty much did, sending fans into a frenzy with songs such as ‘Getting married in Vegas’, ‘Give blood’ and ‘Indelible Mistakes’. At one point fans reached out to the lead singer and he just pulled them onstage to perform with him. When asking about the show Charlie said; ‘Tonight was amazing, so good to play a show with such good bands and with so many good friends their’. The power of the group’s presence shocked me, how they merged as one to bring one hell of a performance. With a great atmosphere and great bands, ITG fully succeeded in making it a great night for fans.
